Last weekend EQ Global joined forces with Santander Bank to enter a team in the Rugby4Heroes festival competition at Old Leamingtonians RFC. This charity rugby 10’s event is organised by Mike Vallance, MD & Head of Transactional Banking at Santander. The EQ Global team were keen to show their support by being a headline sponsor and fielding a team for the event.
The festival is dedicated to raising money for injured Army war veterans to support them on their road to recovery. Our EQ Global team included Jonathon Nash, Thomas Campbell, Oliver Rix, Oliver Ayres, Neil Kinnon (pictured left to right). Inside sources tell us that Nick Pedersen provided fantastic support from the side-lines, cheering the team on to second place overall. Skipper, Thomas Campbell said:
“Each individual in the team played with pride and proved their worth in the face of fierce competition. We played three games over the weekend, only losing one to a team of Fijian Flyers. One of their players had 79 caps for the Fijian International side so we didn’t feel too bad about the result! Special mention must be made to Neil Kinnon who came out of a 20 year retirement for the event and provided the finishing touches to a fantastic team try.”
